Facebook will announce its fourth quarter earnings after markets close on Wednesday.

Analysts expect the following:

  • Merits: Refinitiv forecast $ 3.22 per share
  • Revenue: Refinitiv forecast $ 26.44 billion
  • Daily active users (DAUs): FactSet forecast 1.83 billion
  • Monthly Active Users (MAUs): FactSet forecast 2.76 billion

The company started the quarter with advertising revenue from US politicians looking to vote ahead of the 2020 US election.

Analysts believe digital ad companies including Facebook have had strong quarters fueled by a unique home vacation shopping season.

In December, the company faced antitrust lawsuits by the Federal Trade Commission and a coalition of attorneys-general from 48 states and territories.

Analysts will also be looking for additional information on the impact Apple’s privacy changes will have on Facebook’s ability to target ads to users.
