The European Union aims to have at least 30 million electric vehicles on its roads by 2030. This is the result of a draft report to be published this week.

Other ambitious measures to tackle EU greenhouse gas emissions – 25 percent of which come from the transport sector – are also expected to be set, according to the Reuters report.

“The EU’s goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050 cannot be achieved without putting in place very ambitious measures to reduce the dependence of transport on fossil fuels,” the document says.
